- lay 2,500-3,000 eggs
- Males: spots of white around edges
- Active: May- early August
- can become attached in less than 10min
- 5-6 days to engorge and then fall off hosts to molt into adults
- Active: July-late September
- feed for 4 days then fall off and molt into adults
